ORGANIZATION
iMMAP is an international not-for-profit non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides targeted information management support to partners responding to complex humanitarian and development challenges. SCOPE OF WORK
As the Syrian crisis continues to unfold, the number and sophistication of information management support services and products continue to increase. This is particularly true for the Syrian NGOs with little or no Information Management capacities.
In order to serve this broader context, the Information Management Officer will be responsible for different data- and information management-related activities and duties.
Under iMMAP Turkey's Humanitarian Pool Fund Project (HPF) project, the Information Management Officer will report to the Common Services unit lead. S/he will support the planning, design and implementation of the information management activities for the HPF project.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES
 Collect, compile, analyze and report various primary and secondary data from various sources.
 Provide GIS and mapping support to partners.
 Design and create data printed and interactive infographic products.
 Provide needs assessment support to partners: Needs assessment design, planning and implementation. Questionnaire data collection tool design. Data management, analysis and interpretation of results and findings.
 Support partners in the identification of their information management services needs and develop recommendations on their needs of information products and services.
 Provide training support to partners as requested by the Capacity Strengthening unit.
 Provide mentoring support to the secondees recruited and deployed by the Partnership unit.
 Contribute to lessons learned, identification of information flow problems and recommend solutions as required by the Common Services unit lead.
 Any other duties as required

 Client Orientation: Considers all those to whom services are provided to be “clients” and seeks to see things from clients’ point of view; establishes and maintains productive partnerships with clients by gaining their trust and respect; identifies clients’ needs and matches them to appropriate solutions; monitors ongoing developments inside and outside the clients’ environment to keep informed and anticipate problems; meets timeline for delivery of products or services to client
 Technological Awareness: Keeps abreast of available technology; understands applicability and limitation of technology to the work of the office; actively seeks to apply technology to appropriate tasks; shows willingness to learn new technology.
REPRESENTATION
 Where appropriate, represent the iMMAP project team with partners, and participate in local community activities.
 Maintain effective and positive internal contacts with the Regional Representative, and other iMMAP headquarters officers and staff, and external contacts with the national and local government officials, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and donor agency officials, when required.
SECURITY
 Follow security protocols as laid down by the iMMAP Global Security Advisor.
ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING
 As part of the iMMAP commitment to organizational learning, and in support of the understanding that learning organizations are more effective, efficient and relevant to the communities they serve, it is expected that all team members will commit 5% of their time to learning activities that benefit iMMAP as well as individual professional development.
ACCOUNTABILITY TO BENEFICIARIES
 iMMAP team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to beneficiaries of iMMAP programs, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of field projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
 Education: First level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.)
 Experience: A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in information management. Work experience specific to the Syria response and the UN Cluster System would be an asset.
 Technical proficiency: Expertise and professional skills in the various humanitarian information management areas, namely GIS, data management and analysis and data visualization is required
 Language: Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic is required.
 Flexibility to work in a multi-cultural environment with international and national staff and a kindness and acute sensitivity to different attitudes, cultures, and behaviors.
 Self-sufficiency and proven ability to work independently and take initiative are key
