LINE MANAGEMENT

The iMMAP West and Central Africa Representative (WCAR) will work under the direct supervision of the iMMAP COO.
PROJECT CONTEXT
The role of WCAR is to represent iMMAP at the donors and partners level (UN and NGO) to implement more collaborative projects and to reinforce current iMMAP projects, in Africa and to initiate new business opportunities at the donor’s level and project implementation level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow up with iMMAP SBPP focal of all iMMAP deployees personnel in Africa.

  • Manage, follow, monitor and implement all projects in West and Central Africa (OFDA & DFID Nigeria, JIPS Sudan, FSD Chad etc…).

  • Explore new partnership and donor / opportunities for the West and Central Africa portfolio.

  • Follow up on all deployments as technical advisor and provision of information management support to field staff, including field monitoring mission to each SBP deployee’s in West and Central Africa.

  • Provide monthly, quarterly and upon request performance report, presentation and activity report accordingly to donor’s requirements (OFDA, DFID, WB, SDC etc…) and HQ needs.

  • Participate in all relevant proposals writing activities to include development of project narrative, concept note, budget, monitoring and evaluation and implementation plan, from donors to the field.

  • Participate actively with iMMAP HQ in the business development and communication strategies at the global level but mostly in West and Central Africa.

  • Attend meetings, conferences, workshops and humanitarian events related to activities of iMMAP globally including but not limited to donors meeting, partners meetings, cluster coordination meetings, humanitarian crisis forums and especially for West and Central Africa.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 12 years of experience with increasing responsibility in the field of Humanitarian Information Management (HIM);
  • Good understanding of Information Management technologies, in particular database, web and GIS tools;
  • Advanced University degree or related training in project management, and/or information management;
  • Strong management and organisation skills, very good knowledge of HR/admin and Finance aspect of project management.
  • Proven ability and experience interacting with a wide range of organizations and stakeholders from the UN, Donors, clusters, NGOs worldwide;
  • Strong presentation and communication skills;
  • Ability to design, write and implement new proposal/project.
  • Very good knowledge of funding mechanism for the humanitarian and aid development sector in Africa.
  • Fluent in English and French essential (written and spoken).

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Position based in Dakar, Senegal with frequent travel to all field operation and international trips upon request to attend BD and strategic conference/meeting.
  • The position is expected to be a full-time position in Dakar, Senegal
  • Starring date: 1st of May till end of 2018, renewable every year based on performance result.
