iMMAP has been providing regular capacity strengthening activities (trainings, on the job mentoring, etc..) and information management secondments to local organizations enabling them to better collect, visualize, analyse, and report on information related to the humanitarian situation and needs in MENA Region
The post incumbent will lead continuity and further development of the aforementioned activities through the coordination and management of information management secondments and capacity strengthening activities to local NGOs in addition to the identification and maintenance of partnerships. He/She will work closely with the iMMAP team on ensuring all goals and strategies of the country program are met.
GENERAL
Ø Liaise with relevant humanitarian organizations and clusters on iMMAP services and identify requests for support or collaboration in data and information management
Ø Develop, implement, and maintain capacity strengthening and secondments program work-plan
Ø Develop, implement, and maintain partnerships engagement and outreach plan on secondments and capacity building activities
Ø Assess the capacity of local NGOs for tailored trainings or allocation of secondments based on advisory panel eligibility criteria
Ø Recruit, train, and guide information managers before or during their secondment to local NGOs
Ø Ensure linkage and consistency with iMMAP’s regional capacity strengthening program and liaise constantly with other regional teams
Ø Organize and facilitate capacity building activities such as trainings, workshops, and crash courses on humanitarian information management tools and methodologies
Ø Identify new information management tools and guide development on training content
Ø Evaluate performance of secondees, team members, and the capacity strengthening program through evaluation forms, compilation of client feedback, and surveys
Ø Establish and implement a structured approach to follow-ups on trainings (on the job mentoring)
Ø Engage with advisory panel in all topics related to the unit besides other related platform
Ø Perform other duties as required
REPORTING, MONITORING AND EVALUATION
Ø The coordinator will report to the Area manager and ensure the program is based upon sound principles of design and utilize iMMAP and donor required monitoring and evaluation systems.
Ø The capacity strengthening officer and around 18 information managers will report to the partnership and capacity strengthening coordinator directly to ensure the program is implemented as donor required and according to the work plan
REPRESENTATION
Ø Where appropriate, represent the iMMAP project team within partners, and participate in local community activities.
Ø Maintain effective and positive internal contacts with iMMAP officers and staff, national and local government officials, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), donor agency officials, vendors, media, and the general public.
Ø Follow iMMAP's branding regulations required for marking or branding of all iMMAP products and correspondence.
SECURITY
Ø Follow security protocols as laid down by the iMMAP Global Security Advisor.
ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING
Ø As part of the iMMAP commitment to organizational learning, and in support of the understanding that learning organizations are more effective, efficient and relevant to the communities they serve, it is expected that all team members will commit 5% of their time to learning activities that benefit iMMAP as well as individual professional development.
ACCOUNTABILITY TO BENEFICIARIES
Ø iMMAP team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to beneficiaries of iMMAP programs, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of field projects.
Qualifications
Ø At least 5 years’ experience in emergency response or humanitarian environment; at least two years of them in partnership and capacity strengthening.
Ø Master’s degree and experience in an equivalent field
Ø Thorough knowledge of the UN cluster system and how it operates;
Ø Very good English and Arabic/Turkish skills, both spoken and written;
Ø Proven ability to lead a team
Ø Knowledge of Partnership and communication standards
Ø Good knowledge of the context and good experience in dealing with local NGOs
